The Rockingham County Conservation District always has a need for volunteers to assist with a variety of conservation activities. We have projects that are suitable for both groups (youth, corporate, or families) and individuals (Eagle Scout candidates, etc.). Depending upon the activity, volunteers are needed for either:
- Single day commitment: Projects might include working alongside RCCD in land restoration efforts like invasive species control, a litter removal project, attending a special workday/seminar and, less frequently, special one-time projects.
- Project commitment from start to finish: Sample projects may include construction of boardwalks, benches and shelter structures; fence line or farm dump removal; pond depth surveys; nest box construction, and invasive species removal. New projects are constantly in need of volunteers!
Calling Volunteers for an Associate Supervisor
RCCD is currently inviting all interested parties to apply to become an Associate Supervisor. Associate Supervisors serve the District on a voluntary basis and are welcome to attend and contribute to our monthly Board Meetings and represent the District at various local and regional events and meetings. Please call (603) 679-2790 or email us firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in learning more or would like to join the team.
