Lamprey Preserve Tree Planting Days

Sponsoring OrganizationThe Nature Conservancy and Strafford County Conservation District

Event Description: It’s Arbor Day today – and there’s no better way to mark the occasion than by planting trees! We’ll be planting over 4,000 native trees and shrubs at the Lamprey River Nature Preserve in Durham, NH this spring! Join us today for a morning or afternoon of easy earth-friendly activity. No experience is necessary. We will provide the tools and instruction, and will talk about the wildlife habitat improvements happening at this Preserve through this planting project. This event is appropriate for all ages. The site is flat and easy to get to from the parking areas. Young children are more than welcome if accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.

What to Bring: Please wear sturdy boots and dress appropriately for the weather. Long sleeves and pants are encouraged to protect from the bugs and any thorny vegetation. Please bring a re-fillable water bottle. We will have snacks, water, work gloves, and tools available for all. If you plan to join us for the full day, please pack a lunch.

Event Details: Friday, April 27, and Sunday, April 29, 2018, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day.  Click on the link to visit the Nature Groupie website for more information and Sign-up for one or more volunteer shifts!  https://naturegroupie.org/events-training/calendar
